Direct-Fired Heaters

Welcome to the Fired Heater books website. If you are looking to broaden your knowledge of Direct-Fired Heaters then you have come to the right place.

During my career I have worked extensively with people in the oil and gas industry. As part of that work I have been involved in the design, installation, servicing of direct-fired heaters and in the training of their operators. From this it became apparent that there is a need for a reference manual documenting a practical approach to the design and operation of a Direct Fired Heater.

This is why I published my Four Books for Direct-Fired Heaters:

Book 1: A Practical Guide to their Design and Operation

The objective of this book is to provide insight into the design and operation of direct-fired heaters and their associated parts.

Book 2: Operator Training Manual

Designed around twelve, easy-to-learn sessions, it focuses on the practical operating aspects of direct-fired heaters by defining what they do and explaining the engineering considerations behind their design.

Book 3: Improving Efficiency and Capacity while Reducing Emissions

This book outlines various methods of improving efficiency and lowering emissions. Variations between heater-operating conditions present a challenge to making improvements as no particular solution suits all heaters.

Book 4: Manual Para Entrenamiento de Operadores (Spanish version of Book 2)

El objetivo de este libro es brindar información sobre el diseño y la operación de calentadores de fuego directo y sus partes asociadas.
